Beautiful Sasanian drachm in the name of Khosrow II Parviz(590 - 628 AD).
It was struck in the 9th year of his reign (598-599 AD) in the mint of Rev Ardashir(Khuzistan).
Issued before a coup d'etat lead by Phocas against Maurice in Constantinople that triggered the Persian-Byzantine war (602-628 AD).
Meanwhile in Arabia, born an important man for the future of Iran: Ali ibn Abi Talib.
